We give the people of Birmingham the tools to take positive environmental action and help others do the same. 

We look at sustainable living holistically and our core areas of work cover – Transport, Food, Education, Waste, Water, Arts Engagement and Energy.

We deliver grass roots activities, events and programmes that engage, educate and stimulate communities and volunteers, supporting, advising, challenging and training organisations and influencing wider social change through dissemination, partnerships, research and internships.

Building Mental Health Resilience Conference

A Conference with Intergenerational Dialogue rooted in Communities exploring the theme of Building Mental Health resilience. People from minority communities are often diagnosed with severe mental health problems up to eight times more compared with the wider population. Moreover, these communities experience more restrictive measures within the health system, including being subjected to forensic services and locked wards. This conference will involve an Intergenerational Dialogue root.

Re-Engage, a charity dedicated to reducing social isolation and loneliness in those aged 75 and over across the UK are expanding in Birmingham and are seeking new volunteers and those who may be interested in Re-Engage services to come forward.
Are you supporting children this summer?

Summer should be a time for fun, friends and freedom. But it’s harder than ever to balance the costs – not only for parents or carers looking after children but for charitable organisations supporting families too. Join In Kind Direct’s charitable network to access games, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, stationery and personal hygiene items to help children be happy, healthy and active this summer and go back to school or nursery equipped and ready to learn.
Social Activity Volunteer Helper - Group Coordinator

As an activity group coordinator, you’ll plan, organise and schedule monthly activity groups in your local area. This is an administrative role that requires communicating and socialising with older people and volunteers from all walks of life. The activity group will be at the same community venue and will include older people, activity group leads, drivers, and the activity group coordinator. Activity groups normally last around two hours and will include an activity that gets people.

BVSC (Birmingham Voluntary Service Council)

BVSC lead the project. Co-ordination, project management, finance, monitoring, evaluation, public relations, communication and signposting with wider Voluntary, Community, Faith & Social Enterprise sector and public and private sector partners including through our communications and networks – particularly through our Environment & Energy and Cost of Living Networks.

Acocks Greener is a new community association for the wards of Acocks Green and Tyseley & Hay Mills. Our mission is to help people and businesses to prepare for global warming. We intend to be the example for the rest of Birmingham, showing what can be done and how we can do it.
BCF Footsteps - Faiths for a Low Carbon Future

Developing channels through faith communities and places of worship to support the delivery of energy efficiency advice to disadvantaged and 'hard to reach' communities.
Community Energy Birmingham

Community Energy Birmingham aims to reduce carbon emissions in Birmingham with community energy projects. In the 2010s, CEB installed solar panels on community buildings across the city, raising the capital investment with community shares. Since the end of solar subsidies, CEB has been working with Big Solar Coop to continue installing community-owned renewable energy on rooves in Birmingham.
