Community Energy Birmingham

Community Energy Birmingham aims to reduce carbon emissions in Birmingham with community energy projects. In the 2010s, CEB installed solar panels on community buildings across the city, raising the capital investment with community shares. Since the end of solar subsidies, CEB has been working with Big Solar Coop to continue installing community-owned renewable energy on rooves in Birmingham. CEB has also established a home energy advice service for able-to-pay customers in order to help the early adopters in the retrofit market make informed decisions. As a member of the BrumEnergy consortium, CEB will be expanding its energy advice service to a broader range of Birmingham residents, with a focus on hard-to-treat properties.

Building Mental Health Resilience Conference

A Conference with Intergenerational Dialogue rooted in Communities exploring the theme of Building Mental Health resilience. People from minority communities are often diagnosed with severe mental health problems up to eight times more compared with the wider population. Moreover, these communities experience more restrictive measures within the health system, including being subjected to forensic services and locked wards. This conference will involve an Intergenerational Dialogue root.

Join In Kind Direct’s charitable network to access games, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, stationery and personal hygiene items to help children be happy, healthy and active this summer and go back to school or nursery equipped and ready to learn.
Social Activity Volunteer Helper - Group Coordinator

As an activity group coordinator, you’ll plan, organise and schedule monthly activity groups in your local area. This is an administrative role that requires communicating and socialising with older people and volunteers from all walks of life. The activity group will be at the same community venue and will include older people, activity group leads, drivers, and the activity group coordinator. Activity groups normally last around two hours and will include an activity that gets people.

BVSC (Birmingham Voluntary Service Council)

BVSC lead the project.
