Accelerator programme

What is the Accelerator Programme?

It's a programme of support for people working in organisations in the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise Sector, looking to develop their Business Development approaches and generate income from competitive bidding processes for both contracts and grants.

Why is it needed?

We understand from our work across the sector how increasingly difficult it is to access funding and sustain projects and services.

We also know that organisations that invest in Business Development are over 5 times more likely to be successful with funding applications.

BVSC is committing resources to improve the Sector’s capacity to apply for and secure funding and are subsidising  this pilot programme.

Who is this for?

Participants working in organisations who are responsible for funding / business growth and who are looking to identify and apply for significant opportunities for their growth in the next 6-12 months.

As a guide we think the programme will suit people working in micro and small organisations with a current turnover between £80,000 and £1million. These figures are indicative so if you’re interested and feel you would benefit from attending the programme don’t hesitate to get in contact and discuss your interest.

When does the programme start?

This second programme will run from April 2023 to July 2023.

What are the benefits of the programme?

The programme will provide participants with expert support to develop an effective Business Development Strategy for their organisation that they will then be supported to put into action.

What's included in the programme?

  • Pre-programme support and introductory meeting (Digital)
  • A 2-day induction and introduction
  • Bi-weekly webinar for participants with insights and presentations on key topics (Digital)
  • Bi-weekly one to one progress meeting (Digital)
  • Mid-point review group (in person – venue to be confirmed)
  • 2 x half day work-shops
  • Critical review of two applications being made by participant organisations during the programme.

Please note, the programme is subject to change depending on feedback.

In addition:

Participants will be able to access discounted day rates for bid writing services through our recommended consultants (subject to availability).

On 13 March, a Warm Welcome Network event took place at Aston Villa Football Club. The event connected organisations offering a Warm Welcome to each other, along with local services and initiatives that can aid them in better supporting our communities. Attendees were also able to take part in an ‘eco-system hackathon’- sharing how Warm Welcome was making a difference to their communities and ideas to improve the network for the future.
