The Big Help Out is a nationwide weekend of volunteering and community action from Friday 7th – Sunday 9th June 2024. It aims to: raise awareness of the benefits of volunteering for individuals, communities and good causes; and provide opportunities for people to experience volunteering and make a difference in their community.

As an Awareness Ambassador, you can play an important role in increasing awareness of diabetes locally and online. You will support Diabetes UK campaigns by taking leaflets and posters along to local community venues such as libraries and community centres and like and share on our social media.

Diabetes UK is a national charity, supporting people who live with or are at risk of developing diabetes. Our vision is a world where diabetes can do no harm. We’re leading the fight against the UK's biggest and fastest growing health crisis. And it's a fight that involves us all – sharing knowledge and taking on diabetes together. You will:

• Let us know what is happening in your area, so that we can become involved.
• Support Diabetes UK campaigns, with particular focus on our 4Ts campaign to highlight the symptoms of
diabetes.
• Distribute leaflets and posters at local community venues such as GP & Dentist surgeries, libraries, and
community centres.

The skills you need:

• No previous experience or specific skills, just be excited to get involved!
• Access to a smart phone or tablet/laptop/computer.
