Since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic Witton Lodge Community Association has remained operational and active, working to ensure essential support is delivered to those who need it most, especially the elderly and the vulnerable.

Working with partner organisations across Erdington, thousands of food parcels have been delivered to homes across Perry Common, Wyrley Birch and the wider constituency, medicines have been collected and distributed to individuals and families; volunteers have provided wellbeing support and carried out daily tasks like helping with shopping for those who are isolated and unable to help themselves due to ill health or disability, recruited befrienders have made hundreds of telephone calls to check on people's wellbeing and provide assurance; benefits and housing advice has been provided to those experiencing difficulties.

We have also maintained effective online service delivery around health and wellbeing, employment and skills and housing, ensuring people's needs are met. Additionally, IT equipment and training is available to help people stay connected and in touch with friends and loved ones.

With the third National Lockdown now underway, Witton Lodge Community Association remains committed, providing essential support where it is needed most.

Linda Hines MBE, Chair of the Association, said: "During the new lockdown we will remain open to deliver essential support services for the most vulnerable residents in our community.

“If you or someone you know needs help in this difficult time please reach out to us. We would also like to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer for us and provide support.
