Voluntary Sector Studies Network (VSSN)

Our Director of Research, Sophie is a Trustee and Steering Group Member of the Voluntary Sector Studies Network (VSSN).The Voluntary Sector Studies Network (VSSN) promotes understanding of the UK voluntary sector through research and provides a voice and a meeting place for voluntary sector researchers in the UK.

We're a membership organisation, with members around the UK and internationally from academia and the voluntary sector itself. Find out more about VSSN and join our growing network. Joining VSSN as an individual member costs between £35 and £120 per year depending on your income. Organisational membership of VSSN is around £200 per annum (which covers 5 individuals) and gives access to significantly discounted rates for events and conferences. There are also a number of free to attend events, as well as being the recipient of the academic journal, the Voluntary Sector Review.

Awareness Ambassador

As an Awareness Ambassador, you can play an important role in increasing awareness of diabetes locally and online. You will support Diabetes UK campaigns by taking leaflets and posters along to local community venues such as libraries and community centres and like and share on our social media.
Events Volunteer

Events volunteers help raise awareness of diabetes and Diabetes UK at events around Leicestershire. Events volunteers talk to members of the public in a friendly and enthusiastic manner to raise awareness of diabetes and Diabetes UK, offer appropriate Diabetes UK materials and answer general queries.
