All at BVSC were sad to learn of the recent passing of Colette Carter, who played an important role as an Expert by Experience volunteer in our Birmingham Changing Futures Together programme. Colette also made valuable contributions to research on systems change in the multiple disadvantage field carried out by BVSC Research.

Colette went on to work as a Peer Mentor with Shelter before joining The Hepatitis C Trust and working in the position of Peer Support Lead. CEO of the Trust Rachel Halford said, “Colette was remarkable. A wonderful, inspiring, very funny woman. She was passionate about her work and supported many people.”

Brian Carr, chief executive of BVSC said, “Colette’s contributions to the early work of Birmingham Changing Futures Together were instrumental in making it the successful and life-changing programme it became. We remember and will remain grateful to her, and we pass on our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all her colleagues past and present.”
