Migration Policy and Practice have just released their latest Sector Assessment report - "Migrant Voices on Barriers to Settlement in Birmingham and the Black Country".

It provides an insight into the barriers facing migrants settling in the region across four broad thematic areas. The report was produced in conjunction with sector partners and used insight from a series of focus groups across the region with individuals at various stages of their settlement.

They have also set up a Regional Migration Network to provide a forum for organisations supporting migrants across the region to come together and agree current priorities, develop actions and discuss best practice. The Network will allow a pathway of support for migrants, helping to achieve effective settlement in the region. It comprises of a series of four linked thematic meetings that are held regularly and are open to any voluntary sector group with an interest in supporting migrants – details can be found here:
