Cost of Living Week: 6-10 November:

BVSC is taking part Birmingham’s first ever Cost of Living Week taking place on 6 – 10 November.

A partnership between Birmingham City Council, BVSC and other public, private and Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector partners, the week will highlight all the amazing work happening in Birmingham to tackle the Cost of Living crisis.

The Cost of Living Week will include a series of free events throughout the week for organisations and residents to get involved in.

The week aims to:

  • celebrate and promote the work that has been done so far to tackle the cost of living crisis
  • look forward and agree how we want to work together to tackle the challenges facing Birmingham
  • encourage everyone to get involved in the cost of living programme and think about how they can support the cause

Brian Carr, Chief Executive, BVSC (Birmingham Voluntary Service Council), said: “The cost of living crisis is far from over and this week is an opportunity to raise awareness of the great work being done by Birmingham’s partner organisations to support local communities in need.”

Living Wage Week- 6 – 12 November:

The week also takes place during the annual national Living Wage Week (6-12 November). BVSC are a Living Wage Employer and Birmingham is a Living Wage City. Paying a Real Living Wage provides vital support to employees with the Cost of Living. BVSC are funded to promote the Living Wage by the Barrow Cadbury Trust.
