Are you a passionate gardener? Could you help people living with a disability or long-term health condition to realise the benefits of gardening? Thrive is a national charity specialising in social and therapeutic horticulture, using gardening to change lives. We’re looking for casual workers to support our front-line delivery in Birmingham.

£11.44 per hour

Delivering gardening programmes at our regional centre in Birmingham based in Kings Heath Park, the successful candidate will need to be a confident gardener. You will work as part of a team to deliver gardening programmes for vulnerable, disadvantaged or disabled people. You will work closely with our Client Gardeners helping them to achieve their goals. You will also lead our popular corporate volunteering days, enabling local businesses to improve their wellbeing and complete some vital tasks in our gardens. We also host other horticultural and community workshops that need enthusiastic staff to lead.

The nature of our business means that we sometimes need to cover staff absences or peaks in demand. We are looking for individuals to whom we can offer limited duration, casual assignments in such circumstances. This is a very flexible contract, casual workers are entirely free to reject any assignment offered and there are no fixed hours, the number of shifts offered will vary from week to week. Some assignments may be off site at one of our various outreach projects.
