As part of the enterprise imperative to look to new ways of working and meeting local need, ChangeKitchen CIC announces a new offer, The Social Supper Club - a weekend Click+Collect mealbox service that gives customers a ‘dine at home’ experience whether it’s a treat night, date night or just a chill out night.

Working from their Jericho Kitchen, the ChangeKitchen CIC team led by founder Birgit Kehrer and Manager Thomas Randa, have been busy trying new recipes, finding new ingredients and choosing new menus choosing to buy local and buy social wherever possible.

What is the social supper club all about?

The Social Supper Club helps ChangeKitchen CIC and its customers to do even more good because for every £20 spent, ChangeKitchen CIC will provide £5 of nutritious homemade meals back into the local community.

When will it get started?

The Social Supper Club officially launches on Saturday 6th March 2021 and, in celebration of International Women’s Day, ChangeKitchen CIC also welcome orders from both customers and businesses wishing to celebrate International Women’s Day on Monday 8th March 2021.

Birgit Kehrer (founder of ChangeKitchen CIC) says, “The funding received from The National Lottery Community Fund Social Enterprise Support Fund has been invaluable in helping us evaluate our business, adapt to changing local needs and update our catering offer during the pandemic. Following the success of the ‘Share Some Love’ campaign for Valentine’s mealboxes, 156 additional meals were donated into the community through Incredible Surplus (formerly The Real Junk Food Project Birmingham). The feedback from customers has been inspiring and has clearly shown there is not only an appetite for this new ‘dine at home’ service but that local people want to support their communities through the local meal donation that is wrapped into each purchase.”

One ChangeKitchen CIC customer wrote, "The food was delicious and very generous portions, and seemed popular when we were there. I chose to get a meal as I loved the idea of supporting another family in the city to eat too...what a lovely way to share!"

For the opening weekend and IWD 2021, ChangeKitchen CIC are proud work with a local partner to ‘pay it forward’ through the work of ANAWIM Birmingham’s Centre for Women.

Thanks to National Lottery Community Fund ‘Social Enterprise Support Fund’ for funding support for this project.
