Alun Severn has almost thirty years’ experience of working in, with or for the voluntary and social enterprise sectors. Trading as Third Sector Services he has been providing independent freelance services since 1997.  

BVSC has been a major client throughout that entire period and in recent years he has helped the organisation secure £23m of additional funding for the sector through successful applications to a variety of National Lottery Community Fund social change programmes. This assistance has included bid development and bid writing, research, strategic planning, project evaluations and more.

Alun works primarily with third sector organisations, including charities, VCOs, social enterprises, business support organisations, intermediaries and strategic bodies, and specialises in:

  • Policy – developing appropriate responses to national, regional and local policy.
  • Projects – feasibility and market research, options appraisals, project design and development, business planning and strategic planning.
  • Evaluation – a wide range of evaluation services, including project and programme evaluation, and assessment of grant applications.
  • Research – feasibility research, market analysis, options appraisals, social policy research and reporting.
  • Reporting – all forms of reporting, including writing and editorial support on a wide range of projects, publications and briefing materials.
