Headway Birmingham & Solihull is a local charity affiliated with Headway UK.  With over 30 years of experience, Headway Birmingham & Solihull provides a wide range of services to all those affected by an acquired brain injury, including their carers and family. We are a small charity offering services throughout the whole brain injury journey, from support at the hospital through to continued rehab and access back into the community.

Due to the retirement of our some of our long-standing Trustees, we are currently seeking new Trustees to join our current Board of Directors.

We currently have six Board meetings a year either at Headway House in Mosely in Birmingham or virtually along with our AGM.

We are ideally looking for people with charity knowledge/skills and very much welcome people from a health and social care background. No previous Trustee experience is required.

The Board welcomes applicants with the right experience from diverse backgrounds and from people who have personal experience of acquired brain injury.

The main role will be:-

• To ensure that the charity complies with its governing documents.
• To ensure that the charity pursues its charitable objects as defined in the governing.
• To contribute actively to the Board of Trustees' role of giving firm strategic direction to the organisation,
setting overall policy, defining goals, setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets.
• To safeguard the good name and values of the charity.
• To ensure the effective and efficient administration of the charity.
• To ensure the financial stability of the charity.

If you feel you have the skills, knowledge and experience required, please send your CV and Covering Letter to Donna Rowe (Personnel Administrator) at [email protected]

Please let us know if there may be any barriers to your engagement with us at Headway and we will actively support you with overcoming them.
