We strive to live our HEART values, standing for Humanity, Excellence, Accountability, Responsiveness and Teamwork in every programme. Our volunteers cover everything from adult volunteering to youth work and vitally supporting the NHS! And that's where you come in!

Kingstanding Cadet Unit

We're excited to say that St John Ambulance's Kingstanding Unit are working hard on re-opening our Cadet Branch! For this we're looking to welcome new Youth Leaders into our organisation. As a Youth Leader you'll be an essential part of running our cadet programme for young people.

Volunteering with us is an excellent opportunity to meet new people, build upon your CV and learn new, lifesaving skills! As Youth Leader you'll work with your Unit Manager you will help deliver sessions to our cadets, support young people to achieve their goals and challenges, and strive to engage new members of the community in joining St John.

What does it take to become a Youth Leader?

Are you someone who's passionate about supporting young people to achieve their goals and do you want to work as a role model who empowers and encourages? If you are, then our Youth Leader volunteer role could be for you.

Our Youth Leaders are people with good organisational abilities, who're open-minded and inclusive of young people from all backgrounds and experiences. A person who's able to be an active listener and communicate clearly with our cadets.

But our Youth Leaders are also people who often come to volunteer to improve their own skills. For example; building confidence, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, leadership skills and much more! Volunteering as a Youth Leader can open the door for wider opportunities that you may have never considered before.
