Your organisation is invited to submit a quotation for the delivery of lived experience engagement and qualitative data collection as part of Birmingham City Council's (BCC) Underserved Migrant Health Needs Assessment (UMHNA). BCC is commissioning up to five VCFSE organisations to deliver focused engagement activities. Each organisation will work with a distinct migrant community with whom they have established and trusted relationships.

The priority groups are:

People seeking asylum
Refugees
People on resettlement programmes (including Homes for Ukraine and Afghan resettlement schemes)
People with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) and people who are undocumented

Each commissioned organisation will receive up to £5,000 to deliver this work. This funding is intended to cover all associated project costs, including staff time, participant recruitment, participant and peer researcher compensation, interpreting, venue hire, refreshments, recording and transcription and the production of a short findings report.

This form includes the full specification, outlining the scope, methodology requirements, deliverables and evaluation criteria. The completed form is the only document required at this stage, and all sections must be fully completed, including the indicative budget breakdown and declaration. We anticipate completing the evaluation shortly after the deadline and will notify all applicants of the outcome in due course.

This assessment is a key opportunity to better understand these challenges, highlight what works and develop clear, actionable recommendations that will drive meaningful change.

In new research which RNIB are conducting around the rising cost of living, we are running a survey to gain the feedback of blind and partially sighted people to inform this work and allow us to speak to decision makers. The survey covers important topics such as heating and energy, food and essentials and the additional costs of having sight loss. The survey should take around 20 minutes to complete, though you can take as long as you need, and answers are optional.
