Specialist support

PAC-UK specialist therapy, advice, support and counselling for all affected by adoption and permanency. We help thousands of people each year - some are birth parents or other birth relatives, some are adoptive parents and some are adopted adults.

We are not part of social services or any government organisation. Instead, we sit within Family Action, a charity that supports families through change, challenge and crisis.

At PAC-UK, we:

- recognise how traumatic losing a child can be.
- know that you will always be family to your child and relatives.
- aim to help you improve the outcome for any future children you may have.

Our staff team

Our fully trained counsellors can work with you to:

- hear your story and listen to your feelings about your child’s adoption.
- help explain the often confusing process of adoption and what that means for you and your child.
- help you write a letterbox letter - the first one is often particularly difficult.
- help you to write a letter for your child or relative for when they are older explaining your story and how you feel about it.
- let you know how other parents like you feel, and that you are not alone.
- meet with you to listen and discuss whatever is most helpful to you.

We also run in-person and online support groups in some areas.
