CASBA is looking for a Freelance Advocate to join our team and support adults with learning disabilities to have their voices heard, their rights upheld and their choices respected.

Location: South Birmingham 
Contract: Freelance
Hours: Sessional depending on demand
Pay: £17.48 - £25 per hour depending on experience

CASBA is looking for a Freelance Advocate to join our team and support adults with learning disabilities to have their voices heard, their rights upheld, and their choices respected. 💬 About the Role

As a Freelance Advocate, you will:

Provide independent, person centred advocacy to adults with learning disabilities

Support people to understand their rights and express their wishes

Attend meetings, reviews, and appointments alongside the person

Help people navigate services, systems, and decision making processes

Keep clear, accurate records of your work

Work flexibly, professionally, and in line with CASBA’s values

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about empowering people, confident communicating with a wide range of professionals, and skilled at building trust.


💡 About You

We would love to hear from you if you:

Have experience of working with people with learning disabilities

Understand advocacy principles (or are keen to learn)

Are kind, patient, and a good listener

Can explain information clearly and simply

Are confident working independently

Can travel within South Birmingham

Are reliable, organised, and committed to inclusion

Experience in statutory or non‑statutory advocacy is welcome, but not essential — the right values matter most.
