Visitor Welcome Volunteer

We would love to hear from people with three to six hours per week to spare to make our visitors welcome and to meet their needs.

Light duties only, Mondays to Fridays:  mornings 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., afternoons 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. or all day 10 - 4 for the more energetic.
Would suit retired persons wanting to find a worthwhile way to give something back to the community, and looking for a place to feel at home in.

Tasks include:

  • Talking to people
  • Making hot and cold drinks
  • Selling our organically grown produce and plants
  • Keeping the reception area tidy and sweeping paths.

The ideal volunteers will have the ability to engage with new people, as we can give training in all other aspects of the job. We are a very inclusive organisation. Making people feel at home is part of what makes Martineau Gardens special, and our Visitor Welcome volunteers are an essential part of this.

This is a great time of year to join us and find your way around in time for the spring and summer visitor rush. If you are interested, please email or call Gill on the number below to arrange an informal visit.
