SENAID, with funding from Birmingham City Council’s Community Engagement Fund, is delivering a programme of SEND consultation to ensure the voices and lived experiences of children and young people with SEND and their families are heard and meaningfully reflected in future planning.

Beginning 13 August 2026, SENAID will deliver eight in-person consultation sessions across Birmingham, creating accessible opportunities for families to share their experiences of SEND, including what is working well, the barriers they face, and their experiences of education, health and social care decisions that affect their families.

Through inclusive consultation and partnership working, SENAID will bring together family voice and community insight to identify recurring themes, barriers and practical recommendations. Findings will contribute to a final report for Birmingham City Council’s Children and Families Directorate, providing community-rooted evidence to support future planning.

Parents, carers, children and young people with SEND are invited to take part. Schools, professionals, voluntary and community organisations and wider partners are encouraged to share the opportunity with families and support meaningful participation.
