Midlands-based learning disability charity, Lisieux Trust, is delighted to announce that Dr Emma Hodges has been appointed as permanent Chief Executive.

Emma has been acting as interim Chief Executive at the charity since early June and will now lead the organisation into the future.

Chair of Trustees Paul Eeles, said he and the Trustees were pleased to welcome Emma on board: “Emma has demonstrated superb leadership during her time as interim Chief Executive and has a clear understanding of Lisieux Trust, our values and the people we support. Her experience, commitment and vision made her the outstanding candidate, and the Trustees are confident that she is the right person to lead the charity into its next chapter.”

Dr Hodges, who is an experienced charity leader, said: “I am delighted and incredibly proud to have been appointed as permanent Chief Executive of Lisieux Trust. It has been a privilege to lead the charity over recent weeks and to work alongside such a committed team. I am excited about what we can achieve together and remain focused on ensuring that the people we support are at the heart of everything we do.”

The Chair explained that the interview process, which involved Residents and Tenants as well as members of the Senior Management Team and Trustees, had led to some difficult decisions.

Paul added: “We were fortunate to attract an exceptionally strong field of candidates, which made the final decision extremely difficult. But appointing the right person as Chief Executive, was our overarching concern, and Emma is exactly the right person for our next phase. It was also important to us that the people who live at Lisieux Trust had a meaningful voice throughout the process. Their insight, alongside that of our staff and Trustees, helped us reach a carefully considered decision and reflects our commitment to ensuring that Residents and Tenants remain central to the future of the organisation.”

Emma joins at a busy time, with the Trust set to begin its 40th anniversary celebrations in the autumn alongside an ongoing programme of expansion and modernisation.

She will officially begin as permanent Chief Executive in early August.
