ecobirmingham is offering practical training sessions for voluntary, community and social organisations (VCSOs) across Birmingham, supporting teams to embed the One Planet Living® framework into their work – all at a reduced rate.

The One Planet Living Framework, with support from the Lottery Community Fund, has been used towards creating Greener Community Plans in Allen’s Cross and Sparkhill through the Building Greener Communities Project. Through this project, community directories and maps were also created, highlighting community organisations, gardens and networks in these areas that support social and environmental wellbeing. The directories have now been added to BVSC’s directories page here.

We are proud to have recently been recognised by Bioregional as a One Planet Living® Leader, highlighting our work in delivering the framework at a community level and supporting residents across Birmingham to take meaningful, practical action. One Planet Living® provides a simple, flexible framework that helps organisations take action across areas such as health and wellbeing, zero waste, sustainable travel, local economy, and community resilience. Our training is designed to make these principles accessible, practical and relevant, helping organisations turn sustainability into everyday action within the communities they serve.

We have also developed an online One Planet Living® toolkit, enabling organisations and individuals to create their own action plans based on their priorities and local context. We recognise that environmental anxiety is real, but we believe that small, everyday actions—taken collectively—can lead to meaningful and lasting change. You can create yours here One Planet Living - ecobirmingham

Sessions are interactive and tailored to your context, supporting staff and volunteers to:

  • Understand and apply the One Planet Living® principles
  • Develop practical, place-based action plans
  • Engage teams in meaningful and inclusive ways
  • Build confidence in delivering sustainable initiatives

We recognise the financial pressures across the sector, so we are pleased to offer these sessions at a subsidised rate to ensure more organisations can benefit.
