BVSC, the University of Birmingham, and the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) are launching WM-Adapt, a groundbreaking project tackling climate change challenges in the West Midlands. Funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), this project will work directly with communities to find practical solutions to extreme heat, flooding, and other climate risks.

Who We’re Looking For 

We need 20 community researchers from the following areas:

 Coventry: Foleshill & Longford, Radford, St Michael’s 

Sandwell: Tipton Green, Smethwick 

Solihull: Kingshurst & Fordbridge, Chelmsley Wood 

Walsall: Pleck, Willenhall South 

Dudley: St Thomas, Brierley Hill 

Birmingham: Sutton Walmley & Minworth, Ward End, Castle Vale 

Wolverhampton: Ettingshall North, Heath Town 

What You’ll Do 

Training: Attend a two-day workshop to develop skills in community research and facilitating World Café workshop discussions. (April or June)

Facilitate work shops: Help run 3-5 community events exploring climate adaptation solutions. (June 2025 - July 2026) 

Data Analysis: Learn data analysis skills and participate in a collaborative session to discuss findings. (June, August or October 2025)
