Birmingham Friends of the Earth Ltd (BFoE) is seeking a new Chair of its Board and one or two new board members.

BFoE exists to promote positive environmental change by increasing awareness. As well as campaigning on local to global issues we have a thriving community building, The Warehouse in Digbeth, which is a space for activists, non-profits and green businesses.

Campaigns activity is delegated to our thriving campaigns group, which meets weekly, so the Board's work is mainly on governance of the organisation as a whole and ensuring the operation of the building meets our objectives.

The Warehouse is a friendly and thriving hub for the city's environmental and social activism with a proud history and strong networks. It comprises meeting and office space, a vegan cafe and events space, shops selling bikes, vegan sweets and sustainable household goods, a community radio station and a community garden.

We're seeking people with environmental commitment, a cooperative nature and (for the chair) experience of leading organisational development. For the board members, we're interested in a wide range of expertise and skills including project management, property management and HR.

If you're interested please see http://www.birminghamfoe.org.uk/chair_board/ for more information. And please do share with anyone else you think might be interested.
