Sport 4 Life has always cared about its team. And the West Midlands charity is passionate about the young people it supports. But now it's official - Sport 4 Life is really making a difference!

The Birmingham-based organisation has been given a shiny silver rating for empowering colleagues to change the lives of those in need. The award comes from Investors in People, the top international body that celebrates good employers.

And it was fantastic to read these words from the assessors: “Your people are passionate about what you do and are proud of the difference you make to young people's lives.”

They also said Sport 4 Life was “creating a culture of appreciation, where everyone feels truly valued for their energies, efforts and results”.

But it wasn’t just the assessors who had good things to say. One hundred percent of Sport 4 Life staff said it was a great place to work and 95 percent were positive about the future.

Building a friendly, supportive community to help change young people’s lives for the better is what it’s all about. Rob Wells is Sport 4 Life’s Director of People. Here’s what he had to say about the development:

“The silver accreditation from Investors in People is a big win for us. But it doesn’t stop here. We’re ambitious to grow as a team and as individuals. One way we’re doing this is by getting colleagues involved in driving change.

“At the same time, we’re continuing to invest in staff wellbeing, which is essential to the success of our mission. We want to become one of the best employers in the West Midlands.”

Sport 4 Life is super proud of its achievement but it doesn’t stop here. The charity is striving to be the best it can be, to do more for young people who need support to progress in life.

This is also going to involve growing the team and extending into new parts of the UK.

Sport 4 Life is based in Digbeth, Birmingham, but works with people aged 11 to 29 across the West Midlands. Tapping into the power of sport, it helps to improve the life chances of more than 2,000 under-resourced youngsters each year.

The organisation is also venturing out beyond the region with exciting new partnerships with sports organisations across the country.
