About the opportunity

Around the UK and across the world, nature is in steady, desperate decline. Wildlife and wild
places are disappearing at an alarming rate. 10% of all UK species are now under threat and we are determined to stop this happening. Therefore, collecting the necessary funds to do our important conservation work is crucial. This is why we urgently need your support.

Our community fundraising volunteers are the local face of the RSPB. Last year, in the Midlands, the team raised an amount of £101,200, further contributing to a huge £1.3 million nationally. Could you help us raise even more?

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer to help us develop and maintain a scheme of our pin badge collection boxes in and around the Birmingham city centre. (Don’t know what a pin badge box is? Click here for more information)
Last year we pioneered this new role in Birmingham city centre with great success. Natasha, a University of Birmingham student helped us to raise over £4000 from just 15 boxes in 12 months:

“I was drawn towards the role because it allowed me to contribute to an exciting new initiative, as well as helping to raise funds for the RSPB. As a biology major, I am very aware of the importance of conservation.” - Natasha, University of Birmingham.

In addition to developing a pin badge scheme, you will also have the opportunity to be actively involved in our fundraising strategy, as you’ll be able to share and deliver innovate new ideas to further enhance our income and community outreach.
Would you imagine yourself being the next person who will help the RSPB develop its fundraising capacity even further?
