The Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime charity and provides a head start in life for young people through nautical adventure and fun. Our volunteers work, both directly with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to teenagers who are often struggling in today’s world and their communities.Birmingham Stirling Sea Cadets, Pithall Road B34 7PT, is currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Treasurer to join its Unit Management Team (UMT). Birmingham Vernon Sea Cadets is a long-established Sea Cadet Unit that has provided life-changing opportunities for many young people. We currently have 40 -50 cadets who come from all over the Birmingham and surrounding area.Sea Cadet Units are run by volunteers. The UMT consists of volunteers that act as the unit’s trustees and comprise a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. The UMT is responsible for the manning, funding, safeguarding and health and safety of the unit in addition to ensuring that operational and strategic aims are met.About you: Previous experience as a Treasurer or in a similar role is desirable, although having the right attitude and a passion for improving the lives of young people are the most important things!
