We are an inclusive dance company supporting disabled people to be active through dance. With support from sight loss charity Thomas Pocklington Trust, we are launching a free 12-week Bollywood dance programme in Birmingham for people with sight loss of South Asian heritage. We are looking for sighted volunteers to support participants to walk between New Street Station and the dance venue (FABRIC, Birmingham Hippodrome) and/OR to join in the dance classes and support participants.

Dance Dosti is an initiative led by inclusive dance company Step Change Studios which supports people with sight loss of South Asian heritage to be active through dance. We are looking for volunteers to support our free 12-week dance programme in Birmingham starting on Tuesday 18th April until 11th July (no class 30th May). Classes take place every Tuesday from 11-12 pm at FABRIC (Studio 2), Birmingham Hippodrome, Thorp Street, Birmingham B5 4TB.

Support is welcome in the following areas: 1) supporting people to travel between New Street Station and the dance venue; 2) supporting participants to take part in class (you will also be joining in the dance classes).

Dance Dosti Birmingham is delivered by our local partner Bollywood Dreams and supported by Thomas Pocklington Trust. As familiarity is an important part of building participant confidence and enjoyment, volunteers should be able to attend regularly. Volunteers with DBS certificate preferred (we can support you with this).

Once you register, we will contact you with further information. If you have any questions please email: [email protected]
