Birmingham Adult Education Service (BAES) are looking for Volunteer Learning Support Assistants to support our adult learners in various community learning settings including: Virtual Classrooms, Blended Learning (Virtual & On-site), and On-site classrooms. Volunteers are required to provide individual or group support under tutor supervision throughout the academic year, in a variety of accredited and vocational courses at different levels (from beginners to advanced) including: Maths, English, Biology, various IT & Business courses, Counselling Skills, Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) and British Sign Language (BSL), Floristry, Textiles, Arts & Crafts, as well as a range of courses for Learners with Disabilities and Learning Difficulties (LDD), and short introductory courses.

Volunteers do not need to be experienced but will need to provide evidence of minimum Level 2 qualifications in their subjects of interest, including English and Maths, except for languages (Modern Foreign Languages & British Sign Language), where it is sufficient to be a native speaker if not formally qualified.

Proof of Right to Work in the UK as well as two satisfactory references will be required at the interview stage. In addition, a DBS check must be completed before a volunteer placement is confirmed.
