Ageing Better in Birmingham is a 7 year project aimed at tackling social isolation and loneliness in older people in Birmingham.

As a volunteer Community Organiser, you will play a key part in helping the project to achieve its’ planned outcomes.

We want people to have more social and community connections, and be able to access more community led support and activity.

We believe that building upon the strengths and skills of individuals and groups will help to create sustainable change within communities.

Ageing Better in Birmingham, working in partnership with Compass Support are offering volunteer training workshops to anyone aged over 18.

The training aims to equip volunteers with all the information and knowledge they need to make a difference in their community; whether it’s starting a new community group, or giving you the skills to level up an existing activity, you’ll get all the help and support you need.

No previous experience is needed and the training we provide is designed with those new-to-volunteering in mind, and the workshops are jargon-free and easy to follow.

There’s no commitment expected from anyone who attends the workshops - although we’d hope that after you complete the training, you’ll be eager to get out there and start putting your new skills to use in making positive changes in your community
