Job Title: Volunteer and Activities Co-ordinator Location: New Heights Warren Farm Community Project Kingstanding, Birmingham. Hours and days 34 hours per week based over 5 days Actual salary: £21,534.00 per annum. Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Implement and develop volunteer processes and procedures – including volunteer handbook, recruitment, induction and training, supervision, and personal development plans.

2. Plan and implement a range of activities for example school holiday programmes, community outings, and a varied programme of events for the community across the project, in line with user needs, budget requirements and funder targets.

3. Proactively work in partnership with all projects delivered by New Heights, providing support with identifying volunteering needs, volunteer recruitment, induction and support.

4. Work closely with the New Heights Community Café to facilitate and develop café activities to increase usage and profitability of the café in conjunction with Project Manager.

5. Support ‘NEST’ (Nurture, Empower, Support & Transform) and other project leads with the recruitment, management and training of volunteers as required (including supervision).

6. Ensure the completion of risk assessments for activities and events, regularly reviewing them as required. Each must be approved by a Service lead / Project Manager.

7. Ensure adequate supervision of events, activities and outings delivered by volunteers, with staff support.

8. Manage and maintain a volunteer database, including regular update of files and review of information, producing reports for the Project Manager as required

9. To be responsible for DBS checks for all volunteers and staff raising any concerns with the Project Manager.

10. Request and respond to volunteer references in line with company procedures

11. In liaison with other charity staff and volunteers to contribute to the development of promotional materials and communications to promote community awareness of services, activities, events and volunteering opportunities.

12. Proactively seek networking opportunities with a range of local community groups, organisations and businesses to source volunteers

13. Encourage and arrange volunteer opportunities to promote their development of experience and skills, improve employability and contribution to their community.

14. Work with the Project Manager to proactively expand existing, and develop new, volunteer-led services to meet changing local need, including contribution to funding applications and project planning.

15. Celebrate the contribution made by New Heights Charity volunteers, by nominating individuals and groups for awards, organising events and setting out good news stories / press releases.

16. Monitor the impact of volunteer-led activities and events through use of participant feedback and evaluation of outcomes.

17. Produce reports to funders and trustees as agreed with the Project Manager.

18. Co-ordinate the Youth Social Action group so that it reaches as many young people as possible and has the maximum impact in line with agreed targets and outcomes

19. Ensure that all activities are managed in accordance with New Heights Charity policy and procedures, GDPR , including safeguarding, data protection and equal opportunities.

20. Comply with New Heights Charity policies and procedures at all times.

21. Carry out any other reasonable tasks commensurate with the role.

22. Attend staff meetings and undertake any training.
