Headway Birmingham & Solihull is a registered charitable company, affiliated to Headway – the brain injury association. We promote greater understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide support, information and services for people with brain injury, their family and carers.

The role of Activity Assistant involves:

  • Supporting brain injured people to achieve basic tasks i.e., making a cup of tea, or washing up through to making a meal for themselves.
  • Assisting in the preparation of activity sessions such as getting the room and equipment ready and assisting clients to their sessions.
  • Encouraging clients to work on their personal goals.
  • Enable activity sessions to run smoothly by working with clients who disrupt others in the group.
  • Give support to those less able in the session.
  • Patience, a good sense of humour and tolerance is essential to the role at all times to ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of everyone at our centres.

No experience necessary.
