Volunteering Matters is actively recruiting for new trustees! We are a national charity that is based in communities across the UK. We believe that everyone can play a role in their community, and should have the chance to participate, so we build projects and programmes to mirror this.

With over 9,400 volunteers supporting over 22,600 people in over 100 community programmes – our volunteers drive social impact, by helping people overcome social isolation and loneliness, improve health and wellbeing and gain new skills along the way.

We are looking for several trustees who reflect the communities that we work with and that have the shared goal of growing the organisation, reaching more people and ensuring our volunteers have the best possible experience.

We are particularly keen to receive applications from young people, black and minority ethnic people and those with connections to the communities in which we operate. This will help ensure our board is more reflective of the communities and people we work with.

We are looking for trustees across a multitude of backgrounds who would be able to provide a financial focus, EDI expertise so that they are able to chair our EDI, Anti Racism & Culture Committee as well as someone based in Wales where we are looking to grow.

We welcome trustees from anywhere in the UK, as board meetings will rotate around locations, and there will always be a hybrid option. The board meets four times per year. In addition, trustees are expected to sit on one board committee which also convene four times a year. If you want to make change in society and believe in the power of volunteering, then please get in touch with your CV and covering letter explaining why you’d be a great trustee.
