Birmingham Community Hosting (BIRCH) Network is a small but growing voluntary organisation and registered charity in the West Midlands.

We offer friendship and hospitality to refugees, asylum seekers and precarious migrants in the Birmingham area.

Currently we run three projects:
• Hosting network –providing emergency housing for destitute asylum seekers through volunteer hosts.
• Meet and greet – a weekly drop in with play activities for newly arrived families
• Family befriending – volunteer led befriending for unaccompanied asylum seeking children with local families.

To help us grow we need members of the local Birmingham community to join our Board of Trustees. We’d love to hear from you if you are at all interested, whatever your strengths, but we are particularly keen to recruit people who have lived experience of the asylum/immigration process, or people with knowledge of fundraising, safe-guarding, publicity or immigration advice.

Trustee meetings are held quarterly. The Board of Trustees is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of Birch, and guides and supports the three members of staff and team of volunteers.
