We are seeking to recruit Trustees with knowledge and experience of Marketing, communication and public relations and/or Property and Asset management.

We are seeking to recruit Trustees with knowledge and experience of charitable organisations. We currently need trustees with knowledge and experience to help grow and expand our charitable activities in a new direction specifically in relation to a new model of supported housing we are developing. We are seeking skills in the following areas: –

Marketing, communication and public relations
Property and Asset management

What will you be doing?

The high calibre Trustee will add capacity and expertise to a vibrant team at Spitfire Services, a Castle Vale based charity supporting the most isolated and vulnerable in society. Spitfire Services aims to create strong and resilient communities where the most isolated and vulnerable people in the communities are recognised, valued and supported. As a member of the Board of Trustees you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to peoples’ lives through quality governance, development and monitoring of the organisations strategic goals and supporting the team and volunteers in the delivery of the services. Trustees will need to demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the vision, mission and values of the organisation and work well as part of a committed team.

What are we looking for in a Trustee?

A connection to Castle Vale or knowledge of Castle Vale and the wider communities of Birmingham along with knowledge of the issues faced by people who come from the most isolated and vulnerable communities in our City would be helpful but not essential. Understanding, particularly the issues raised by offering services to vulnerable and isolated adults, including safeguarding and the need to involve the whole community in developing creative solutions.

You may either already have some form of trustee/board experience or bring board experience from the public, private or voluntary sector with you. You may have experience of working/volunteering in the community i.e. in Advice & Advocacy, Family Support, Community Support or in a Sports Social Enterprise or similar areas.
