Project Coordinator – Neighbourhood Network Scheme

Ladywood Neighbourhood Network Scheme - background

Neighbourhood Network Schemes’ (NNS) are Locality and Constituency based networks designed to engage and develop services for older people (aged 50+) – connecting people, groups and places at a neighbourhood level.  The NNS approach is integral to the new ‘Community Social Work’ model and examples investment in ‘Prevention First’ through Adult Social Care Services.

NNS will support older people by increased ‘social participation’, ‘healthier lifestyles’, ‘maximised income’, independent living’ and ‘support for carers’.

Birmingham City Council has commissioned Birmingham Settlement, Karis Neighbour Scheme, Nechells POD and Soho First CDT to deliver NNS outcomes for the Ladywood Constituency comprising the wards of Aston, Ladywood, Nechells, and Soho.

Information about the partner organisations can be found on their respective websites:

We are seeking a full-time Project Coordinator to be employed by and based at Birmingham Settlement (Aston). The Project Coordinator will carry out the same duties as the Project Support Workers but will carry additional responsibility for coordinating the project including development of delivery plans, preparing reports and returns, and overseeing the day-to-day running of the project.

Experience of working in the community sector is a requirement along with excellent organisational skills, ability to ‘get things done’ and a good understanding of the needs of older people along with project management skills including impact monitoring and reporting.

All roles present an excellent opportunity to work in partnership on a progressive project resulting in a positive impact on the lives of older people at a grassroots level.
