About Birmingham Changing Futures Together Programme

BVSC is the lead organisation for the Birmingham Fulfilling Lives: Birmingham Changing Futures Together Partnership of over 120 voluntary, public and private organisations. The Partnership developed a Business Plan and was successful in being awarded £10 million by the Big Lottery Fund, to be spent over 8 years from April 2014.  The views of over 80 people with multiple needs (experts by experience) also shaped the Business Plan and experts by experience will continue to be involved every step of the way.  There is a Core Group of 14 organisations who will help BVSC as lead organisation ensure that the Programme’s Business Plan is fully implemented to ensure that services are improved so that more people with multiple needs can move on to live fulfilled lives.

The Programme will also seek to persuade people who commission services for people with multiple needs to change their approach to how services are delivered so that they are more effective.  Birmingham’s Programme includes plans to develop and evaluate: 

  • ‘No Wrong Door’ network of agencies where people with multiple needs feel welcomed and valued.
  • Shared assessments so that people with multiple needs only need to tell their story once.
  • Signposting is improved - in reach and outreach services are increased.
  • Lead workers and peer mentors support individuals to get the services they need and in turn are supported by a virtual hub of expertise and information sharing.
  • A’ Beyond the Basics’ programme which will develop a range of leisure, learning, training and employment opportunities that develop more positive peer networks and lifestyles.

Inreach Outreach (IROR) Engagement Worker

The Birmingham Changing Futures Together programme are looking to recruit 2 x IROR Engagement Workers to ensure successful delivery of the programme. The successful candidate will deliver presentations and provide guidance to key stakeholders on how best to support people with multiple and complex needs. Working within communities, you will identify the most hard to reach members who are experiencing multiple and complex needs by offering peer experience support with the aim of building positive relationships and signposting them into the most applicable services, including the No Wrong Door
