Finance Officer (maternity cover)

BVSC is the Lead and Accountable body for three of the Big Lottery Fund’s Fulfilling Lives programmes, Birmingham Changing Futures Together, Talent Match and Ageing Better. Birmingham Changing Futures Together works with service users and organisations to shape how services are designed, delivered and commissioned to people with Multiple and Complex Needs in Birmingham. Talent Match seeks to support young unemployed disadvantaged people aged between 18 and 24 years. Ageing Better aims to help reduce social isolation amongst older people in Birmingham.
We are currently recruiting for the following role:
Finance Officer (maternity cover)

£28,203 pro rata per annum
21 hrs per weekT
To cover maternity leave for up to 12 months
We are looking for a Finance Officer to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months. The successful candidate will provide a professional, comprehensive and accurate finance service, meeting the needs of the organisation, funders, and external clients. The role will be required to maintain and manage robust financial and monitoring processes and procedures to ensure BVSC’s accountability to the National Lottery Community Fund for the Birmingham Changing Futures Together programme.
As Finance Officer you will be responsible for preparation of accounts, as well as independent examinations and consultancy work. You will be required to use your qualifications and experience of producing accounts to produce financial, management reports for internal projects and departments.
You will be responsible for the claims process and for ensuring eligibility and alignment with contractual obligations and the Terms and Conditions of funding and BVSC’s own policy and procedures.
As Finance Officer you will use your inter-personal skills to provide guidance and support to staff managing contracts, contractors and delivery partners as required on the reporting of outputs, expenditure and general progress.
We require a candidate with strong attention to detail who will be responsible for submission of all Returns required by the Charity Commission, HMRC and Companies House for external clients. You will use your experience of collecting, managing and analysing complex data and statistics to support the work of the Programme Director in ensuring that through the provision of accurate financial information, overall project spend can be properly managed.
