To provide technology and digital aided advice, guidance and support for customers on the full range of accessible technology and digital services; in order to make use of digital equipment and services to increase their personal independence throughout their lives.

Role description:
- Motivate and support blind and partially sighted people within Birmingham to take steps towards achieving independence with and through technology.
- Signpost and refer clients to appropriate RNIB and local and national services.
- Provide specialist advice to individuals, professionals, commissioning bodies and employers; on the most appropriate accessible technology solutions for their particular needs or desires, offering solutions and developing customers skills and abilities where needed.

Tasks:
- Helping clients set up and get started on their equipment.
- Providing ongoing phone support and training to clients who require it.
- Troubleshooting technology issues.
- Helping individuals use adaptive software & hardware.
- Encouraging individuals with basic IT skills such as using the internet.
- Assist with demonstrations on new Technologies.
- To undertake any other training relevant to this role.

Skills required:
- A commitment to the aims and values of Focus Birmingham
- Excellent communication skills.
- Happy to work individually and in a group setting.
- Getting IT skills and an interest in keeping up to date with the latest technology.
- Comfortable and patient in training and supporting people.
- Flexibility and reliability.
