We advocate for those who need a voice and offer a completely confidential, non-judgemental culturally sensitive counselling service using arts forms to heal trauma caused by Female genital mutilation (FGM). Job Summary: The post holder will be directly accountable to the Directors, supporting Allies Network C.I.C. clients and groups

Responsibilities and Tasks include:

  • Gain a full understanding of all areas of the organisation to enable you to identify and develop new opportunities.
  • To undertake a market analysis to identify opportunities for growth, and to lead on the development of appropriate organisational products and services as agreed with the Directors.
  • Identify opportunities for service development through new funding streams, partnership, and commissioning opportunities.
  • Lead on the management and preparation of all:

o Funding bids
o Tenders
o Business proposals

  • Coordinate the implementation of agreed new projects with the responsible member of senior management team, and help to develop monitoring plans, and co-ordinating reporting arrangements.
  • Develop positive relationships with a range of stakeholders providing funding to charities, including 3rd Sector, Public Sector, and the Business Sector, to raise awareness and promote the organisation within the Region.
  • Build relationships and partnerships and pursue funding avenues to realise new service activity in line with the organisation’s charitable objectives.
  • Implement and facilitate team meeting to develop the organisation’s funding strategy in partnership with the Director’s and management team.
  • Develop training material and facilitate with training staff and volunteers


What we need from you:

  • Organisational development, strategic development, sustainability planning, Business planning, research, writing or ‘critical friend’ support
  • Income generation/ fundraising plan research, writing or ‘critical friend’ support
  • Possess a proven track record (2 years or more) of leading successful applications to grantmakers and charitable trusts.
  • Have experience in corporate fundraising and donor stewardship.
  • Have experience operating bid/proposal information systems, including commissioner portals and the ability to utilise internal systems and data.
  • Have experience of a broad variety of business/fundraising opportunities relevant to the charitable sector.
  • Have proven experience of developing and maintaining excellent relationships with key stakeholders to deliver tangible results.
  • A current UK Driving Licence, with access to your own vehicle.
  • Grant funding- identification and screening of opportunities for suitability and eligibility
  • Grant funding- research, planning and writing proposals for submission
  • Tender bids- identification and screening of opportunities for suitability and eligibility
  • Policy and procedures- support to ensure the important supporting documents are in place for organisation and ahead of the submission of application
  • Proposals- support to showcase your organisation to potential new client
  • Income generation and fundraising process management- support to identify grant funding, tender bid and trading opportunities and plan to meet targets and deadlines to an agreed time frame.

Networking & Partnership Development

  • Attend external meetings when required to represent the views of Allies Network C.I.C and its service users and feed information back to the team and Directors
