Support Volunteer Our services within the community are growing, building on the existing support we offer to those with visual impairments. We are looking to expand our dedicated team of volunteers to work alongside our Service Coordinators to support some of the most vulnerable people living with sight loss, enabling them to maintain independence at home. We will achieve this be developing a tailor-made packages of support for everyone, coordinating the right support at the right time throughout their sight Tasks:- Providing support to the Service Coordinator when undertaking assessments within the community and or at home of the people we support- Visiting people we support in their homes providing practical support to ensure actions in enablement plans, following assessments, are achieved- Assist the Service Coordinator to deliver Life Skills Education and Technology courses at local community settings- Report safeguarding concerns as per policy- To undertake any other training relevant to the this role Skills required:- A commitment to the aims and values of Focus Birmingham- Good communication skills - listening and verbal- Ability to maintain a high quality, confidential, non - judgemental service- Practical life skills- Friendly and welcoming- Flexibility and reliabilityTraining provided:- Focus Birmingham Core Training- Ongoing support and supervision from dedicated Focus staff- Any additional training to enable you to undertake the role
