With thanks to The Community Fund we have secured funding to set up a Smell and Taste Action Group in the Birmingham area. We need your local expertise, connections and personal experience of smell and taste disorders to help us ensure that no one feels alone living with a smell or taste condition.

As a Group Lead, you will play a crucial role in providing support, raising awareness, and fundraising.
Ideally, you will do this role along with another lead volunteer to share the load. With support from Fifth Sense you will build a small team of volunteers to do one or more of the following:

1. Plan regular peer group meetings for members to connect, share experiences, and provide support in a welcoming environment
2. Spread awareness about smell and taste disorders through events, information materials (leaflets, posters), and engaging with local media
3. Provide smell safety information to local groups
4. Advocate for better policies and resources for research, diagnosis, and treatment of these disorders, collaborating with other groups
5. Create and manage fundraising efforts like events, seeking sponsorships, and using online platforms
6. Connect with healthcare professionals and organisations to build partnerships and expand support for those with smell and taste disorders
