Could you help us reach as many people living with sight loss across the whole of Birmingham? Our Champions are residents of Birmingham who want to make a real difference in their communities, by engaging, informing and inspiring others Helps us to fulfil our goal of making every day better for people with sight loss.

Purpose of Role:

- To reach as many people in Birmingham with the sight loss key messages
- To reach and increase engagement with underrepresented communities
- To increase Focus knowledge in underrepresented communities and how best to support them

Tasks:

- You will receive the latest information about sight loss directly from us
- You will share this information with anyone in your community, however you want
- You will work with us to understand your community and what works best for them
- You will work with us to help us understand how we can support those with sight loss in your community including letting us know what it is and isn't working and how we can fix it
- Create short information videos in your communities language that Focus can use on their website and other marketing channels
- To deliver short information presentations to your community on sight loss and how Focus supports people

Skills and experience:

- To be well connected within your community and be able to pass on key messages to as many people as possible
- Ability to work alongside others in a non-judgemental and respectful way
- Good social skills and a good listener
- Understanding of and/or interest in helping people in the community
- Flexibility
