Puppet Safari - Community Performance Opportunity Become a puppeteer this October; join us at Ruskin Glass Centre and help bring the Puppet Safari to life! Hello! We are System of Strings, a West Midlands based puppetry company with our roots in the Black Country, committed to bringing exciting creative opportunities to the area. During this October's half-term we are excited to be working with Ruskin Glass Centre and Creative Black Country to produce Puppet Safari - an outdoor walking tour to meet all sorts of wild and weird creatures. This is a free event which will be performed by emerging performers and community members from the Dudley borough. To develop this production, we are offering a FREE puppetry performance week for people over the age of 16 who live, work, or study in Dudley borough. Participants in this week of workshops will be taught Puppetry Performance technique by professional performers and will perform to public audiences at Ruskin Glass Centre on 27th and 28th October. In collaboration with Ruskin Glass Centre and Creative Black Country, System of Strings are pleased to open up this active-learning performance opportunity to interested community members in Dudley borough. This is a FREE opportunity taking place during the days of 24-28 October at Ruskin Glass Centre in Stourbridge. Participants will learn puppetry skills and rehearse the safari on 24th and 25th October, dress rehearse on location around the centre on 26th, and perform to public audiences on 27th and 28th. Travel expenses within Dudley borough can be reimbursed, and lunch will be provided for all participants. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and practice applicable performance skills like puppetry, audience interaction, and working in non-traditional performance spaces with a professional theatre company based out of the West Midlands, or to connect more with the local arts scene in the Dudley community!
