Adult Social Care within Birmingham City Council are recommissioning the Prevention and Communities (P&C) grant programme The programme is now open for applications and is due to end at noon on Tuesday 09 May.

Adult Social Care carried out an engagement process during the summer of 2022 getting the views of over 530 stakeholders from social workers, to assets (community organisations) and citizens. Three events with the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector were held in August 2022. The slides that the commissioning team are used to explain the recommissioning programme and short survey about priorities and gaps can be seen here

Cabinet Paper

The recommissioning was approved by the City Council’s Cabinet on 14 February 2022. The reports for this can be seen here.

Since then the commissioning plan itself has been updated.

The value of the P&C Programme is £2,745m per annum including the Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) current contracts. There has been no change to the overall budget requirement for the P&C Programme since the last commissioning round in 2019.

In March 2023, the Prevention Commissioning team, hosted by BVSC, ran two online briefings for the wider voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector.

Grant Surgeries

We have arranged a series of 30 minute surgeries with a commissioner and a member of the BVSC team. These can be accessed online or face to face at either the BVSC offices by Snowhill Station, or Lifford House in Stirchley or online on Zoom.

The surgeries are now full. If you could not get one or you want to check something then you are welcome to drop in virtually for a chat with BVSC on Monday 24th April any time between 2 and 4.30. It’s not a one to one but you will have a chance to get to ask the clarifications you need and if others are there you might gain something from their conversations too. You can just drop in but it’s really helpful if you let [email protected] know you’re coming.
