Tabor House is a shelter providing temporary overnight accommodation and holistic support for people who have been homeless. The project uses a strength-based approach to work with guests to enable them to move towards meaningful independent living. Tabor House is a volunteer led project who are supported by a small staff team.

You will engage directly with individual’s experiencing homelessness and work to enable clients to attain personal goals. Clients will be able to benefit from the services provided by Tabor House and partner agencies. As a result of this engagement, you will be able to work with individuals to move into Tabor House or support them to take up other appropriate services. You will need to have an understanding of each individual’s current situation and undertake a strength-based assessment, looking at options on a case-by-case basis. Experience of working in a community engagement role of undertaking field research (preferably in Birmingham) would be beneficial but essential as training and support will be given.
