Ricky Joseph


Ricky is an academic within the Centre on Household Assets and Savings Management (CHASM), a new research centre within the University of Birmingham, and leads its Financial Inclusion Workstream. His research interests include: housing assets, asset inequality, ethnic minority housing and housing policy. He teaches on its Social Policy BA module.

Prior to joining the University, Ricky worked as a housing practitioner within local government and the voluntary sector in London. Ricky has extensive experience of policy development within the housing association sector and  has been a board member of Notting Hill Housing Trust and St Mungo’s homelessness service. He has represented the London Housing Federation on the Housing Corporation’s London Regional BME Housing Advisory Group. Ricky is a trustee of Trinity Housing Resource Centre in Lozells and is a  governor for a primary school in Solihull.
