David Viney is project coordinator for the Changing Practice in Adult Social Care project, which is part of the Ageing Better in Birmingham programme. This project offers a timely opportunity to support the programmes longer-term aspiration of enabling improvement in outcomes for older Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans people who receive Adult Social Care services in Birmingham. To achieve this the project will identify areas for improvement in current Adult Social care practice and a provide a package of bespoke support and training resources aimed at Adult Social Care commissioners, providers and workforce; it will also develop and test an ‘LGBT-Inclusive Quality Scheme’.
David will facilitate a partnership between BVSC, Ageing Better experts by experience, Birmingham City Council and Adult Social Care Providers who will inform project delivery, and also contract and manage a suitable provider to deliver project outputs. David is passionate about the role of people in shaping their own.
