The State of the Sector Survey is back! The State of the Sector Survey provides BVSC Research with the most comprehensive data set about the health of Birmingham’s community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) Sector. It was launched in 2020 and will be repeated on an annual basis. Last year’s survey was launched at a time of exceptional turmoil for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) groups and organisations. The subsequent 2020 State of the Sector Report revealed that more than half of respondents had lost income due to the pandemic and a quarter considered their very survival as being at risk. At the same time services were ever more stretched and many organisations were struggling to meet increased demand. Through last year's Survey you told us you wanted to see a community recovery approach built upon the full range of supportive activity the VCFSE sector can deliver for the citizens of Birmingham. In response we initiated a range of measures to support the recovery process; from advocating on your behalf, establishing strategic relationships, providing practical information as well as funding and capacity building support. We set out details of these measures in our recent ‘You Said, We Did’ article published recently on the BVSC website. In August we asked you to contribute to the planning of this year’s survey by taking a short survey. Thanks to all of you who took part! It’s important that the information we collect reflects everyone’s needs and provides a useful resource for the sector. The effectiveness of the survey relies on your response and this year we want hear from an even wider cross-section of VSCEF organisations - from small grass-roots organisations working in local communities with no (or few) paid staff to the City’s high-profile charities. The Survey will take around 15-20 minutes of your time to complete. The questions are available as a pdf version to allow you to gather the information in advance in order to speed up the completion online. Complete the Survey The Survey will remain open until 15 November. To find out more about the State of the Sector Research, please contact [email protected].
