Right Services Right Time – Meeting Children’s Needs Briefing Events

Birmingham Safeguarding Children Board (BSCB) and Children’s Social Care are arranging a series of multi-agency briefings to support the launch of the new Meeting Children's Needs Model which will replace the former Windscreen Model on the 13th May 2013.
This new approach clarifies collective responsibility for all agencies across Birmingham to ensure that children & family's needs are assessed and addressed appropriately. It is essential that your agency is represented at the local launch event in your area.
The  briefings will also provide you with a overview of the new arrangements for:

  • The development of the early help pathways
  • What constitutes a good referral - and what happens when you make a referral
  • The new Children and Young Peoples Information, Advice, Support Service - This deals with all telephone contacts and referrals for children and young people requiring information, advice, support or services from Children’s Social Care
  • The further integration of Safeguarding/Family Support
  • The creation of integrated teams covering the areas of work previously done by First Response, Safeguarding and Integrated Family Support Teams (IFST’s)
