Do you know an Aston Villa 'Community Champion'?
As part of Aston Villa Football Club’s ‘Supporting Our Own’ initiative, the Aston Villa Foundation are seeking nominations for the ‘Community Champion’ scheme.
Our ‘Community Champion’ programme offers you the chance to nominate unsung heroes from all walks of life who make a positive contribution to their local community and inspire others.
These may be sports volunteers, youth workers, ambassadors, fundraisers, carers – the people who work tirelessly for the benefit of others, or people who battle difficult personal circumstances selflessly and without complaint.
There are no set categories, just special people of any age who you think to deserve recognition.
Winners of the Aston Villa Community Champion scheme will be invited to attend Aston Villa v Middlesbrough on Saturday 16th March in the hospitality lounges, as guests the Aston Villa Foundation.
They will also be presented with a trophy at the side of the pitch during the build-up to the game. Nominees for the Community Champion scheme do not need to be Aston Villa supporters – they can be of any age, with the only criteria being that they are inspirational for others and come from Birmingham and surrounding areas.
Last year, Pride of Britain award winner Moin Younis was among ten people who were selected to receive the accolade.
You can nominate your Community Champion by emailing: foundation[at]avfc.co[dot]uk.
Please include your name and contact details and those of the person you are nominating.
Please also provide as much information as you can about why you think this person should be recognised as a Community ‘Most Valuable Player’.
Closing date for applications is 5 pm on Friday 22nd February.
